Love Film.

Posted by stevelowton on November 30, 2008

I do. Love it. Cinema or at Home. The best.

Oh and talking about films with Paul Brody. He is the best person to talk to about film, Try it. Buy him a large kebab, sit back and listen. Every year we spend an eveing going through our Top 25 Films.

Mrs. O. and I have signed upto Love FIlm. Very efficient. Try it.

They send us a DVD , we watch it, send it back to them and they send us another. Dead Simple.

I have only one question {and hope}.

My question is …Is there a special agent who deals with our film choices? Does she or he sit there and say “Mmmm/ I wonderif they would like this?” or perhaps “I think they might enjoy this one – I’ll give it a try”.

I know we created potential viewing lists but they have to come in an order and they were only very general….so something muct choose and pack it. Please don’t let it be automated.

Taking this notion further …they might even think “I think its about time the two of them faced into this issue or thought about this or knew more about this subject. i will send them this.” Now that would be neat.

A long distance mind and life reader? A life prophet? A receiver of words of knowlege?

I wonder just how random ‘Love Film’ is? I wonder?

Perhaps there is someone out there trying to tell you something.

Seven Legged Spider brings HOPE!

Posted by stevelowton on November 29, 2008

Isn’t that whole 7 legged spider debt settlement piece a stroke of awesome genius?

It is worth having a life to come up with one idea so good as that.

I would have settled his debt there and then. He deserves whatever he gets for selling the picture and story.

Good for him! In rubbishy times this feller has shone a big bright light through lots of dark.

HOPE!…….. AT LAST!!!

Secret Santa…

Posted by stevelowton on November 29, 2008

On the subject of advent and journeys etc, Santa will of course be making an appearance soon.

I knew this woman once who wanted a red portable radio for Christmas. She never got it and always mourned the fact. Like everything else she ever got was nice but just not a red portable radio.  One day her husband bought her one – almost the exact model. She cried. Not with joy or relief but with sadness because she had always wanted her father to buy her it.

I want the compilation of Laurel and Hardy DVDs. I just don’t want anyone in my family to buy it! Odd or what! I have a romantic notion that life could be so good that a total stranger or someone on the periphery of my life could buy me something precious – could dispense such generosity and grace.

This year I am going to buy someone on the periphery of my life something which I am going to guess they not only want or need but hanker after. I am going to take a chance. It could be you. Imagine if we all did it. We all bought and gave extravagantly outwith the normal circle we move in.

Its nearly advent. He’s coming.

Heroes – It’s Coming….

Posted by stevelowton on November 29, 2008

For those of you still following Heroes – of which I am one …and yes the cheerleader is getting very orange and yes Einstein would have a lot to say about the whole time issues… but have you noticed the messianic feel that this story has ’stumbled’ into.

It’s coming. Sylar adopting messianic poses. No coincidences.

I love Christmas. And I love Advent. Especially this year. It speaks of journeys and arrivals, of special events. A very special event in this case.

This year Mrs O. has bought me an advent calendar. I think its my first. Its a ‘Celebrations’ one. I can’t wait.

I will celebrate every day.

Celebrate the fact that its not an ‘it’ coming, but a HE.
