Turkey to the West Bank

Stories have the power to run and run and run. It’s amazing; once you kick into a flow so keys appear that unlock so much. After posting the other day on Turkish/Armenian issues Kathy Garda got in touch. Kathy walked with myself and a few other friends down through Turkey into Syria, then on through the West Bank into Jerusalem. She had picked up this quote from the Palestinian Ambassador to the UK; an Armenian married to an Arab, Manuel Hassassian, whose father escaped the Turkish massacre. He says

” I can strike a lot of parallels between Armenia and Palestine at all levels. To maintain our presence until now, despite wars, occupation, 70 years of communism, and to get an independent Armenia, brings hope that one day Palestinians will get their independence.”

So a Turkey/Armenian creeks on its hinges and the reverberations are felt all the way into the West Bank. Wow!
