My story

Hi and thanks for visiting my blog. Who am I? Someone who, during the last decade, gave myself to long distant walking to begin to discover afresh the power of story and the wonder of the journey. Walking across the breadth of Europe into the Near East and the Middle East has been a huge adventure, fuelling my desire to write and my delight in the power of story telling.

Standing now at the gates of Arabia my mode of transport has somewhat changed, looking now to hitch a ride onto the global trade routes. Believing there is a better story to tell I carry a pen in one hand and a book of stories in the other. Not sure what I am on about? Take a look here

And want to know more about the people I share my life with? Hit the link here. A few moments of fame courtesy of the Daily Mirror.

Thanks for calling by.

This has nothing to do with your site but as a budding writer of stories myself i am putting an irrelevant post on your site about spending 21 days on the hop in Zimbabwe and listening to the most heartbreaking stories in the world – strangley i have lost my will to write….
    How do you keep going????
    Na.

A couple of weeks ago Na I met with a friend of mine who works in the cancer wing of my local hospital. We had failed to meet a week or so before as she had to stay late at work to sit with a grieving family. They lost a patient that day. I asked her the same question. Not how do you keep writing but how do you keep going into work. She replied that she loved her job and that was enough. What she really meant I believe is that she loved people and that is enough.

I have no idea of the depth of pain and horror you are touching Na but you are in your country because you love your nation and you love your people. If you don’t tell the stories then who will?
